- Business Information Founded in 1941 as Korea’s first electric wire company, Taihan Cable & Solution has over 80 years of experience in power transmission and distribution, offshore wind, communication, construction, and plant solutions. In the underground extra-high-voltage (EHV) sector, Taihan has demonstrated world-class expertise in cable manufacturing and installation and is expanding its presence into the United States and Europe. Taihan has obtained international certifications for its 500kV HVDC LCC and 525kV HVDC VSC cable systems and operates an in-house HVDC Test Center capable of conducting HVDC cable testing. To strengthen its submarine cable capabilities, Taihan has established Dangjin Submarine Cable Plant 1 in South Korea and is constructing Plant 2, which will produce HVDC submarine cables rated at up to 640kV. With its cable-laying vessels, “Scandi Connector” and “PALOS,” Taihan provides comprehensive offshore wind solutions from cable production and installation to maintenance and support.
