Technology
2-1)BPWS(Block-type Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting System)
- BPWS (Block-type Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting System) is an unassisted solar hydrogen production system that integrates a crystalline silicon(c-Si) light absorber, Ni catalyst, membrane separator, and electrolyzer frame into a single device. Four c-Si cells are connected in series to provide the voltage required for water splitting. The Ni foil serves both as a water-splitting catalyst and as a protective layer that shields the c-Si from the electrolyte. The generated hydrogen and oxygen are separately discharged and collected through the membrane and electrolyte circulation. An STH efficiency of 4.35% was achieved with a 1100 cm2 system.
