- Business Information Engineering Guarantee Insurance (EGI) was established in 1989 as a special corporation under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to support the growth of engineering, energy, and knowledge-based industries. EGI provides a wide range of financial services including guarantees, insurance, and loan programs tailored to the needs of its members. The institution also engages in profit-generating businesses such as real estate leasing, asset management, and investment, reinforcing its financial soundness and service capacity. Starting with 72 member companies and KRW 700 million in assets, EGI has grown into a leading financial institution with 2,886 members and total assets of KRW 2 trillion. Its “A” credit rating from S&P demonstrates EGI’s financial stability and global trustworthiness. EGI continues to play a vital role in enhancing the financial independence and competitiveness of its members while contributing to sustainable industrial development and innovation in the engineering and energy sectors.
