- Business Information Founded on August 1, 1974, Korea Zinc Co., Ltd. is a global leader in non-ferrous metals, producing over 1.2 million tons annually. In 2024, it recorded consolidated sales of KRW 12.05 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 723.5 billion. Headquartered in Seoul, its Onsan Smelter in Ulsan is the world’s largest single-site producer of zinc and lead. Korea Zinc’s “Hematite Zinc Smelting Process” is designated a National Core Technology. The company also developed the world’s first integrated zinc-lead-copper process to recover valuable metals from by-products. It is Korea’s sole producer of strategic minerals such as antimony and indium. Amid growing resource nationalism, Korea Zinc is seen as key to diversifying global supply chains. Building on its strong smelting base, it is now advancing its “Troika Drive” strategy, focused on renewable energy and green hydrogen business, secondary battery materials business, and resource recycling business.
